Tanner Newby is a 2020 RHP/OF with a 6-0 160 lb. frame from Essex Fells, NJ who attends West Essex. Medium frame with a lean, athletic build. Projects for additional strength. Ran a 7.06 sixty-yard dash. Worked out defensively from the outfield showing smooth paced, deliberate footwork while closing to and working through the baseball. Funnels with two hands out front and worked through exchange with developing fluidity. Released from a three-quarters arm slot generating uphill carry to the bag at 78 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with an upright, even stance and simple leg lift trigger. Coils hands slightly at load and employed a line drive barrel plane through extension. Displayed some hand quickness through the zone and consistently produced sharp line drive contact to the middle of the field between the gaps.
