Monray Van Der Walt is a 2020 C/1B with a 6-0 185 lb. frame from Fulshear, TX who attends Obra D. Tompkins. Nice athletic build with good present strength and plenty of room for more. Very good runner for a primary catcher, 6.82 in the sixty. Shows lots of athleticism behind the plate defensively, stays low and has quickness in his lower half and in his release, solid arm strength with very good accuracy due to his balance and athleticism. Right handed hitter, has a short and controlled shift into contact, short and direct swing with good present bat speed, middle of the field line drive contact with some carry on the ball. Has all the tools to keep improving. Good student. Named to the 2018 National Underclass South Showcase Top Prospect List.
