Matt Schade is a 2024 1B/RHP/3B with a 5-11 175 lb. frame from Boothwyn, PA who attends Monsignor Bonner. Recorded an 8.17-second 60-yard dash time. Medium, projectable build with room remaining to be filled throughout his frame. Primary first baseman, clean fielding funnel out in front of his frame. Deliberate footwork with good turns to the bases. Accurate to the bags, up to 76 mph, developing arm strength. Could improve mobility and foot speed for better athleticism around the bag. Secondary right-handed pitcher, full windup with a simple operation that offers some deception against hitters. Whippy arm action from a lower 3/4 arm slot. Fastball showed sinking action though the zone, working both sides of the plate as he generate a lot of weak contact. Up to 80 mph with more in the tank. Showed feel for an advanced slider that had lots of late break, getting swing-and-misses. Right-handed hitter, even, balanced stance. Utilizes a toe-tap-trigger to initiate his operation. Quiet hands with a compact stroke that is simple and repeatable. Line drive impact to the middle of the field with developing power potential as he adds strength to his frame. Excellent student.
