David Bishop is a 2023 LHP/1B, OF with a 5-10 170 lb. frame from Jackson, GA who attends Piedmont Academy. Primary left-handed pitcher with a medium frame and athletic build. Worked exclusively out of the stretch with a closed feet set and leg-lift to high waist. Sits on the back leg throughout leg lift and creates down angle with the fastball from a higher slot release point out front. Ran the fastball up to 80 mph and a secondary curveball with 1/7 break in the low-60s. Commanded arm-side of the plate with the fastball and used the curveball late in counts. Secondary outfielder position with a two-hand gather and long-arm action on throws to the bases at 81 mph. Accurate throws from the outfield with a high-front side and higher slot after exchange and working through the baseball. Left-handed hitter with an even base and barrel on the shoulder hands-set. Downhill bat path with strength to the pull-side from his contact point out front and backside release. Exhibited barrel awareness during batting practice and during game at-bats. Recorded a 7.65 second 60-yard dash time. Excellent student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
