AJ Thomas is a 2025 1B/RHP/C with a 5-11 175 lb. frame from Ellabell, GA who attends Bryan County. Large frame with present physical strength and good projection, will continue to grow and add physicality. Primary position 1B, using a deep funnel and working the glove out front. Deliberate footwork and on point angles to most plays, has a feel for what he's doing around the bag. Showed velocity up to 72 mph with a quick release and solid accuracy. LHH working from a closed stance and nicely set in his strong base. Pull oriented approach with fairly simple, repeatable mechanics in his swing. Hands are strong, delivering the barrel with intent and good extension. As he learns to stay in the middle of the field more frequently he will become even more of an offensive force. Secondary RHP, using a side rocker step to get started into his full windup. Showed some timing issues initially but once he got synched up, he showed a FB up to 74 mph with some life. Pitched well to contact and will see velocity climb as he access the strength in his lower body. Also featured a CB with mostly 12-6 break in the low-70's and made it a consistent factor in the zone. Very good student with intriguing two-way potential.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
