Clay Manning is a 2022 RHP/3B with a 5-10 180 lb. frame from Andrews, TX who attends Andrews High School. Recorded a 7.50 second sixty yard dash time. Medium frame with a compact and stocky build, real physical prospect with present strength. Primary right-handed pitcher with a short arm circle, stays in line and hides the ball well. Quick arm and creates good downhill plane, comes from a high three-quarters slot with a tight release. Big drop and drive mechanics, fastball his significant arm side run and he is not afraid to challenge on the inner half and play into his fastball movement. Held his velo well and generated plenty of swing and miss with the heater. Flashed a slider with short horizontal action and some drop. Key to his development will be adding a secondary pitch with swing and miss traits, a changeup could be quite an effective pitch for him given his current stuff. Secondary third baseman with stiff actions, has a long funnel and gather with extra movements. Right-handed hitter with a high hand and back elbow set, hands get deep on the load. Utilizes a toe tap trigger, flashed some strength in the swing, produced solid line drive contact to his pull side when on time and squared. Great student. Named to the 2021 Lone Star Showcase Top Prospect List.
