Jake VanBooven is a 2023 OF/LHP with a 5-10 175 lb. frame from Elk Grove, IL who attends St. Viator. Recorded a 7.21 second sixty yard dash time. Medium frame, compact and sturdy build with present strength. Primary outfielder, fields it off his front foot with a long gather at the top. Tight and restricted arm stroke, has some carry out of the hand and keeps the throws low. Actions are a bit stiff but has some tools to work with moving forward. Left-handed hitter with a tall stance and narrow base, utilizes a big leg lift trigger. High hand and back elbow set with a stiff hand load and launch. Barrel tends to be in the zone for a limited amount of time, will improve as he gets it in the zone early and stays through extension. Impacted the ball well during his round when he evened out the bat path. Great student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
