Algenis Sanchez is a 2022 OF/LHP with a 5-7 138 lb. frame from Guayama, PR who attends Albergue Olímpico Baseball Academy. Recorded a 7.43 second sixty-yard dash time. Smaller, athletic frame with room to fill out and add strength. Primary outfielder with clean actions throughout the fielding process, showing the ability to field properly out in front and maintain momentum into release. Displayed online, accurate throws with plus arm strength recorded up to 88 mph during drills. Secondary left-handed pitcher with simple, repeatable mechanics and good usage of his lower half. Implores a three-quarters arm slot, producing some whip and present arm speed to the stroke. Fastball worked in the low-80s for the majority of his outing, topping out at 83 mph in this look and flashing some sinking life to the arm-side. Controlled delivery that stays online, while staying compact and creating some downhill plane to his fastball to generate swings-and-misses. Mixed in 1-7 shaped curveball with exceptional location and command to the bottom half of the zone. Confident strike thrower with some upside on the mound. Left-handed hitter that hits from with solid overall hit tool and a confident approach. Implores simple swing mechanics to get on plane early and deliver the barrel with accuracy and quickly. Middle-of-the field approach with strength through contact and the ability to carry the gaps when on time and in-sync. Displayed consistent bat-to-ball skills with fluid operation and feel. Solid skill set with some explosive tools considering stature, will continue to improve with minor refinements and additional strength. Excellent Student.
