Matthew Salinas is a 2023 3B/RHP/IF with a 6-0 220 lb. frame from Dallas, TX who attends Hillcrest. Salinas works from a strong broad build with strength present throughout. As a primary CIF, he displayed controlled mechanics with a full process to generate accurate throws across the diamond up to 78 mph. He successfully changed slots up the middle with developing arm strength. On the mound, Salinas worked from the stretch flashing direct downhill mechanics and a 3/4 slot, repeating the overall operation well. He showcased some arm side run on the FB up to 82 mph with heaviness to the heat for swing and miss. He mixed an 11-5 breaker to keep hitters off balance. Offensively, the righty started from an even base with present bat speed to generate line drive contact to the pull side. He has the ability to create lift in the bat path and has juice potential when timed up, posting an exit velo of 81 mph. Ran a 7.69 sixty yard dash.
