Ty Waid is a 2023 C/RHP, 1B, 3B, OF with a 6-1 210 lb. frame from Texarkana, AR who attends Arkansas. Strength showing in the frame with a very physical build. Has a bigger frame overall. Ran a 6.82 60-yard dash. A primary catcher who replaces the feet well, gaining ground and throwing from the ear. Had present arm strength, throwing 81 mph down to second with a 1.94 pop time. It was a clean arm stroke with quick and clean transfers. Also worked out as an infielder. Worked to the ball, establishing a wide base with good rhythm to the ball. Had quality arm strength with accuracy across the diamond at 88 mph on his throws. Had a clean gather, getting the glove out front and making the pick. A right-handed hitter who was extremely physical. Starts with the back elbow up and an even base. Has a subtle hover trigger to get on time. Was able to hit balls out pull-side. Extremely quick hands with gap-to-gap juice showing during his round of BP. Produced a 94 exit velocity. His bat carried in-game, with a home run and a double to his credit. Also took to the mound as a pitcher. His fastball worked up to 88 mph with the strength showing in his build. He sets the glove at the belt with a simple leg kick and a well-directed stride moving down the mound. He threw both offerings for strikes. The fastball has some jump to it. His slider was solid, missing barrels and inducing swings and misses. He's able to throw it where he wants and use it to find success. He punched out 6 hitters over 3 perfect innings of work. Shined all weekend with lots to like. Good student. University of Arkansas Razorbacks commit.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
