Preston Barr is a 2024 3B/RHP with a 6-2 175 lb. frame from Harper Woods, MI who attends University Liggett. He has a tall frame and an athletic build with a high waist and room to add strength. Ran the sixty yard dash in 7.38 seconds. Primary third baseman that has smooth actions and moves well to both sides of his body. He has soft hands and makes clean, quick transfers before throwing with a strong arm from a low slot. He showed good accuracy and the ability to throw on the move. Secondary right-handed pitcher that creates torque with a high knee to chest leg kick. He has dip and drive back leg mechanics and uses his lower half well, pushing down the mound in line with the plate. He has a long arm action and throws from a 3/4 arm slot. His fastball has nice life to it, exploding out of his hand and carrying through the plate well. His curveball is is primary off speed pitch, coming in with 12-6 shape with plenty of bite and a lot of spin. He also features a changeup that plays well off the fastball due to the velocity difference. He showed the ability to land all three pitches in the zone and does a nice job of funneling his pitches. Right-handed hitter that starts with an even stance with low hands and a low back elbow. He uses a toe tap trigger for timing and has a rotational swing. He swings hard and showed the ability to make hard contact to the pull side. Excellent student. Named to the Fall Midwest Workout Showcase Top Prospect List.
