Joseph Hagmaier is a 2022 LHP/1B/OF with a 6-2 161 lb. frame from Massapequa, NY who attends Plainedge. Recorded a 5.57 second forty-yard dash time. Long, lanky frame with room to fill out and physically mature. Primary left-handed pitcher that incorporates a high leg lift to create deception and some cross-fire action to his release. Incorporates drop and drive lower half mechanics dow the slope, hiding the ball well from opposing hitters. Attacked hitters from a high 3/4's arm slot, commanding both sides of the plate effectively. Fastball topped out at 74 mph in this look with natural arm-side run through the bottom of the zone. Mixed in developing breaking ball that varied in shape that will continue to improve with additional arm strength. Secondary first baseman with clean glove actions, good footwork around the bag and accurate throws to the bags. Recorded arm strength up to 67 mph across the diamond. Left-handed hitter that hits from a an upright, even stance with a lower hand set, high back elbow and small stride out to landing. Contact oriented stroke that stays fairly compact throughout with developing feel for the barrel. Mostly pull-side intent with occasional line drives to the middle. Will continue to improve with proper swing adjustments and additional strength. Good Student.
