2006 Southeast Underclass Showcase
Cory Cronan is a 2009 P/1B with a 6'4'', 190 lb. frame from Loganville, Georgia, who attends Grayson High School. He has a tall and good pitcher's frame with projectable strength and upside. On the mound he throws from a 3/4 arm slot with fast actions in his delivery. Cronan has solid arm speed and he projects to throw harder in the future. His fastball topped out at 82 mph during the showcase with arm side life. He also mixed in 68 mph curveball with depth. Cronan struggled with his command during his outing, but his arm works well and he is very projectable. At the plate he is a left handed hitter who hits from a crouched stance with a wide base. He has solid bat speed and showed the ability to hit to all fields. He stays inside the ball with his hands showing bat head skills. Cronan is a good student as well.
