2022 Sunshine Rocky Mountain Showcase (Tues/Wed)
RJ Wilson is a 2025 SS/RHP with a 6-0 165 lb. frame from Pleasant Grove, UT who attends Pleasant Grove. Medium frame with a lean and athletic build. Ran a 7.49 second 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, moves well around the dirt, works with good angles to the spot, funnels it clean and hands work well out front, very efficient mover and has some arm strength that projects, clocked up to 81 mph across. Also pitches, intriguing upside on the mound, really athletic delivery and repeats it well with good extension and a quick arm, fastball was up to 81 and will project to more, really missed bats with the slider showing spin nearing 2400 RPMs, kills spin on changeup too with late sink to it. Left-handed hitter, very loose and athletic process, works the hands through well with loose wrists and can create some leverage already, lifted to the pull side with comfort but swing works well and found a good amount of barrels, projects very well to added strength. Good student. Named to 2022 Sunshine Rocky Mountain Showcase Top Prospect List.
