Drew Shifflet is a 2018 RHP/3B with a 5-11 190 lb. frame from Nacogdoches, TX who attends Woden HS. Medium frame, strong, sturdy build. Primary righthanded pitcher, short and compact delivery, repeats mechanics pretty well and stays balanced. Works to an extended 3/4's arm slot, maintains looseness in arm-action, ball comes out of hand well. Fastball up to 83 mph, shows mild armside run and has solid command of the offering. Showed quality feel for changeup, has solid action and some fading life off of the fastball. Also flashes a curveball with sweeping action and some late depth, at times can get on side of pitch, but shows tighter rotation and should continue to develop. Worked out in the infield as well, fields out in front and will vary arm slots, throws solid arm strength across the diamond. Right handed hitter, wide base with active hands in load. Shows strength throughout body, inconsistent getting extended and started on time, but has tools and shows potential with hard contact off of the barrel. Named to the National Underclass South Showcase Top Prospect List.
