Grant Aycock is a 2022 RHP/IF/OF with a 6-5 200 lb. frame from Greensboro, NC who attends Wesleyan Christian Academy. Extra-large, athletic frame with square shoulders and long limbs, room to develop physically moving forward. Ran a 6.87 60-yard dash. Primary right-handed pitcher, gets tall on backside at top of delivery, quick coming down the mound, shorter arm stroke through the back with present am speed, works to a three-quarters release point. Hides the ball well and generates some deception, fastball topped out at 91 mph, stays on line coming down the mound, some effort at release, occasionally gets under the ball at release. Worked around the zone strike, sinking life to fastball when down in the zone, will continue to develop a consistent feel for slider up to 78 mph, solid spin to the changeup at 74 mph. Similar short arm action on throws from the outfield, quick release, shows some footwork through the ball and stays in line; two hands fielding the ball out front in the infield, active footwork on the approach, shows arm strength across diamond. Switch-hitter, begins with a low back elbow from the left side, looks to turn on the ball at the point of contact, creates some loft and jump off of the barrel. Slightly open stance from the right side, lower hand set and carries them low through swing, works on a linear path, utilizes a leg lift trigger, shows some life off of the barrel. Very good student.
