Rance Rosas is a 2019 SS/2B, OF with a 5-10 160 lb. frame from San Angelo, TX who attends San Angelo Central High School. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and present strength and quick-twitch muscle to frame; additional room to fill throughout. Primary middle infielder, hands show well out front and play at the ball, gets low moving to and through the ball, pivots well on turn, quick transfer with an extra step into release, over-the-top slot on throws across. Short and quick footwork moving to the ball in the outfield, quick release with a short arm action, shows present strength with effort at release, gets on top of the ball well. Switch-hitter, showed more present feel and steady contact from the right side. Begins with a high hand set and high back elbow at the plate, utilizes a leg lift trigger for timing at start. Stays short to the ball with swing path and handles the barrel well to work all fields with comfort; displays looseness and quickness to hands and repeats swing well while staying compact through the ball. Even stance with a high hand set and back elbow from the left side, moving parts in timing but gets the barrel through the zone and shows athleticism, employs a pull side approach with loose hands to swing. Speed plays well down the line and put pressure on the defense. Named to PG Top Prospect Games Top Prospect List. Excellent student.
