Brooks Rice is a 2020 RHP/3B with a 6-3 180 lb. frame from Madison, MS who attends Madison Central. Long and lean projectable build, young look physically. Has a fluid delivery with a long and loose arm action to a high 3/4's arm slot, front side tends to fly out very early making it hard for him to repeat his arm stroke. Worked mostly in the mid-80's, touched 89 mph early out of the wind up, has been up to 92 mph since the National Showcase, fastball has lots of run and sink and generates ground balls. Has good arm speed on his change up, big breaking 11/5 curveball he can land for strikes. Should continue to improve as he gets stronger and more physically mature. Right handed hitter, hits from a straight stance with a deep hand load, pretty direct and quick with his hands into the zone, flashed some pull power when out front. Good student, verbal commitment to Louisiana State.
