Mason Brassfield is a 2024 OF/LHP/1B with a 6-4 185 lb. frame from Bakersfield, CA who attends Bakersfield Christian. Ran a 6.93 60-yd dash. Features a long/lean build with present athleticism and plenty of projection. In the OF, he works through the ball with a smooth/relaxed approach that doesn’t break momentum and an arm that has above avg. strength while showing some arm side tail to his throws. At the plate, he sits in a wider stance where he keeps it simple with his lower half and hands that load slightly up. Swings it on a natural lofty path through the zone impacting several in the air throughout his BP round showing some above avg. bat speed. On the mound, it’s an athletic operation. He side steps into a belt high knee tuck where he stays into his backside well while moving fast and aggressive down the mound. The arm action is loose and continuous flashing plus arm speed to a H ¾ slot. The fastball sat 91-93 T94 with some downhill action to it that proved hard to barrel. Mixed in sharp slider low-mid 80s slider with some dower action to it that induced some chase/whiff during his quick outing. Named to the PG All-American Classic.
