Benjamin Santiago is a 2022 SS/RHP/IF with a 5-10 210 lb. frame from Richmond, VA who attends Freeman. Solid strong well proportioned build. Very well balanced tool and skill set as a two-way player. Left handed hitter, rotational swing with a hanging leg load, repeats his timing very well, aggressive hitter who attacks the ball and barrels up consistently, has some barrel whip and plenty of present bat speed, nice extension through contact. 7.09 runner, moves well for his size on defense and is light on his feet with good footwork, good hands at the ball, can throw from multiple arm slots and has more arm strength than he showed in drills. Uses his strong lower half very well on the mound to help generate velocity, high 3/4's arm slot with a clean and loose arm action. Fastball topped out at 85 mph with run and sink, locates his fastball well to both sides of the plate. Showed a good feel for a biting slider and throws it for strikes. Good student. Named to the National Underclass Main Event Top Prospect List.
