Garrett Patterson is a 2023 C/UT with a 6-0 175 lb. frame from Upland, CA who attends Bonita. Long and athletic frame with good physical projection. Ran a 7.20 second 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, clean fundamental actions, good catch-and-throw with clean transfers and fluidity to the actions, arm strength plays well on pops, comes out clean and carries with good accuracy. Moves well in the outfield, clean actions and arm strength plays well on throws. Also pitched, good tempo and athleticism to the delivery, up to 86 mph with a ton of life on the fastball, runs it hard to the outer half, showed feel for tight lateral slider that is tunneled well and showed a really good knuckleball with real dance and ability to miss bats. Righthanded hitter, shorter swing with strength at impact, good bat speed but cuts it off some, good handle of the barrel as a whole, on it a bunch during his batting practice round. Intriguing two-way upside. Great student. Named to 2022 Sunshine West Showcase Top Prospect List.
