Jack Engell is a 2023 1B/3B with a 6-2 180 lb. frame from Petersburg, AK who attends Petersburg. Lean athletic build. Ran the 60-yard dash in 7.06 seconds. Primary first baseman, showed off his athleticism, moved well laterally, displayed smooth hands with a quick transition and good footwork. Showed the ability to make the routine plays, displayed accurate throws, was clocked up to 74 mph on throws across the diamond. Right-handed hitter, hits from an even base with his toes pointed in, the hands start high by the ear and load down. Displayed a quick swing with an upper cut hand path, consistently driving the ball middle in. Has a high effort swing, swung the bat with good intent, displayed good pull side pop. Excellent student.
