2022 National Underclass West Showcase
Avon Barney is a 2025 LHP/OF with a 6-1 168 lb. frame from Sheridan, WY who attends Big Horn. Ran a 7.95 second sixty. Primary left-handed pitcher with a long lena build, showing room to fill out in the limbs. Showed drop and drive mechanics in the lower half staying online to the plate with a shorter stride down the mound. Arm works on a short track through the back up to high three-quarter arm slot hiding the ball well though the back. Fastball sat 75-78 mph with some riding life while finding the zone a good bit. Curveball showed more bit the slider at present with two plane action while the changeup has some fade to it in the low 70's. Takes an under control approach in the outfield fielding the ball off to the side and gathering with extra steps on the transfers as the arm works long through the back showing young arm strength. left-ahdned hitter, starts even using a toe tap trigger. Displayed some projectable hand speed to the swing with line drive contact impacting the ball best to the pull side. Excellent student.
