2023 Sunshine Rocky Mountain Showcase (Tues/Wed)
Ben Harting is a 2025 RHP/OF with a 5-9 130 lb. frame from Loveland, CO who attends Thompson Valley. Harting works from a lean still developing build with plenty of room to fill out and add strength in the future. As a primary RHP, he displayed a belt high hand set and compact operation with a 3/4 release on the mound to ultimately top out at 81 mph. He effectively mixed both a FB and CB flashing the ability to work backwards in counts and command off speed in any count. The breaker could be manipulated for both vertical and horizontal plane. Expect velocity to continue to increase in the future. From the OF, Harting got behind the ball well and displayed a full arm path touching 82 mph. Glove work was sound with accurate throws to the plate. Offensively, the righty started from a slightly open stance with a high hand set to produce impact to the opposite field. Expect more consistency and power to develop as the bat path gets level and on plane. Posted an exit velo of 74 mph. Ran a 7.67 sixty yard dash.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
