James West is a 2026 RHP/3B with a 5-9 144 lb. frame from Florence, SC who attends Trinity Collegiate. Smaller, athletic build. 8.13 runner in the sixty-yard dash. Primary right-handed pitcher, works from the stretch only, belt high lift to balance with a full arm circle in the back to a 3/4 release point. Commanded the fastball with cutting action to both corners, running it up to 82 mph (2271 RPM). Also flashed a slider in the outing with inconsistent shape. Breaking ball will get better as he repeats the mechanics better. Secondary third baseman, hands get down late, long exchange, throws from a lower slot with accuracy to the bag. Still developing arm strength across the diamond, recorded throws up to 73 mph. Also worked out in the outfield, under control on the charge, fields it with two hands, short arm action to a high 3/4 release point. Throws had carry and accuracy to the bag, up to 78 mph. Excellent student. Named to 2022 Fall Atlantic Coast Showcase Top Prospect list.
