Gavin Young is a 2027 3B/RHP with a 5-7 145 lb. frame from Brentwood, MO who attends St. John Vianney. He has a medium frame with a lean build and plenty of room to add strength. Ran the sixty yard dash in 8.28 seconds. Primary third baseman that showed nice lateral actions to both sides of his body. He gets to the ball early and stays low throughout the fielding process. He transfers the ball cleanly and made accurate throws across the diamond. Secondary right-handed pitcher that uses a knee to belt leg kick and has a shorter stride down the mound in line with the plate. He fires with a short arm action and delivers from a low 3/4 arm slot that allows him to create some running action on his fastball. He pairs the fastball with a curve that shows short vertical break and stays away from hitters barrels. He works both sides of the plate and gets ahead of hitters. Right-handed hitter that starts in a wide base with high hands and a high back elbow with his hands deep in his stance. He uses a leg lift trigger for timing and has a rotational swing. He has an up-the-middle approach and hits the ball where it is pitched.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
