LATEST PG SHOWCASE REPORT
2022 13U/14U Mid-Atlantic Showcase
Hoel Rodriguez is a 2027 RHP/3B with a 5-4 125 lb. frame from Brooklyn, NY who attends Millennium Brooklyn. Recorded a 7.98 second sixty-yard dash time. Medium, square shouldered frame with a high waist and plenty of physical projection remaining. Primary right-handed pitcher that incorporates an uptempo delivery with a higher leg lift into balance and shorter stride down the slope. Proficient strike thrower that changes up his timing and tempo to create deception. Fastball worked in the mid-60s for the duration of his outing and topped out at 68 mph from a three-quarters arm slot. Tons of arm-side life to the fastball due to short, compact arm stroke, maintained velocity throughout and from the stretch. Mixed in short 11-5 shaped curveball that he was able to land for strikes. Secondary infielder with deliberate actions throughout the fielding process. Displayed segmented actions to field out in front, while using extra steps to throw. Showcased some lateral range to both sides and changed arm angles when necessary. Recorded arm strength up to 62 mph across the diamond. Right-handed hitter that hits from an even based stance with high hand set, high back elbow and leg lift trigger. Intent based swing with quickness to his hands, compact present bat speed and some line drive impact to the middle-of-the field when on-time. Showed ability to turn the barrel on the inner half and feel for the barrel. Will continue to expand overall hit tool and generate more power as he continues to physically mature. Projectable, young prospect with upside on both sides of the ball, will continue to improve with proper swing adjustments and additional strength.
