James Benson is a 2027 LHP/1B with a 6-5 190 lb. frame from Lemont, IL who attends St. Laurence. Extra-large, long limbed frame with a lean build and room to fill throughout. Ran a 9.05 60-yard dasd. He possesses a prototypical pitchers frame, vry tall for his age but is athletically fluid already. His fastball has good arm side run and topped out at 73 mph. He possesses a nice and easy wind up and delivery throwing out of a three quarter arm slot. Everything is effortless and more velocity will be coming shortly. He also did a good job fielding his position. His curveball had good action and he uses it as his out pitch. He also worked out at first base, showed good footwork and glove technique and has an accurate arm. At the plate he has an upright, even base with a leg kick. He looks to be a gap to gap hitter projectable power. More bat speed to come.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
