2023 13U/14U Sunshine Rocky Mountain Showcase (Tues/Wed)
Josh Byler is a 2027 3B/SS with a 5-9 155 lb. frame from Castle Rock, CO who attends Valor Christian. Compact frame at present with lean strength in the upper half. Ran a 7.80 60-yard dash. Primary third baseman, actions profile him to the corner, solid play in the hole, nice body coordination and internal clock, athletic looking feel to the round, looked comfortable laterally and made all the plays asked, clean leather with nice transfers and an accurate arm. Left-handed hitter, slightly open with high hands and back elbow, some bat speed to the profile, flat level path through the zone, handsy feel to the operation, flashed some hard pull side impact a couple times, hovering leg lift trigger out to stride, lands a bit wide and tendency to leak on the back knee, showed some barrel control. Barreled up velocity in game and flashed an all fields approach with doubles to either gap, some carry off the stick. Projectable corner athlete who can handle the stick some in game. Named to the 2023 13U/14U Sunshine Rocky Mountain Showcase Top Prospect List.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
