Christopher Alvarez is a 2027 SS/RHP with a 5-9 145 lb. frame from Apple Valley, CA who will attend Riverside Prep high school in the fall. Features a medium sized athletic build with room to add strength. A primary pitcher that showed a 3-pitch mix (FB, CB, CH) with a deliberate, athletic repeatable delivery out of a 3/4 slot. Alvarez has fundamentally sounds mechanics, works linear down the mound and attacks hitters with the fastball early in counts. A strike thrower with the ability to land his secondaries for swing and misses and produce weak contact. Showed a filthy changeup with excellent fading action to the arm side. Collected 2 strikeouts in 2 innings of work. In the box Alvarez starts with a slightly open stance; employs a big leg kick trigger with a bat wrap loading mechanism. Used an all-fields approach where he was able square the ball up on a consistent basis. Shows good hand/bat speed with a high finish.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
