Leah Cierzan is a 5'7, class of 2023 1B/3B, RHP from Minneapolis, MN who attends Academy Of Holy Angels. Leah is an athletic player who shows a steady ability to play a couple of positions and swing the bat. She ran a commendable 3.46 20-yad dash and posted an even more impressive 1.13 5-yard burst split. A primary RHP, Leah uses a long and consistent arm action that has some deception. She throws a three-pitch mix that shows solid control. Her 54-mph fastball has plus spin and a bit of drop element that presents late. Her change-up shows sound acceleration through release and depth at the plate. She works this pitch especially well to the arm side edge. Her rise is thrown with plus extension and has short, quick jump at the plate. Leah also took a turn on the IF. she shows solid footwork and positions well. Her glove is smooth and soft. She has a strong and steady arm as evidenced by her 54-mph throws that hold their plane and are highly accurate. At the plate, this RHH uses a wider and more balanced stance at the ready. She shows a plus ability to bunt the ball. Her swing path is fairly flat and holds on one plane. Her path includes lift at contact and she has more of a middle-of-the-field approach. Leah is a sound two-way player who shows a promising approach to her game. Her body language and obviously positive attitude shows that softball is important to her. With two years left in her HS and travel ball careers, she will continue to grow her game and become a sound prospect.
