Lucy Menssen is a 5'6, class of 2023 OF/IF from Northfield, MN who attends Northfield HS. Lucy is a high energy, upper class veteran player, who gives consistently great effort and shows a sound ability at more than one position. She ran a 3.33 20-yard dash with a 1.11 5-yard split. A primary OF, Lucy is poised and mature with her actions. It is very obvious she has worked diligently at her defensive game. She is quick to position and easy to field. Her glove is sure. She transitions well and her arm shows solid arm strength. Her 55-mph throws have carry and are accurate. Lucy also took a turn on the infield dirt. Again, her footwork and positioning are excellent. Glove is certain and she transitions well. Her arm, while not as powerful as from the OF, produces 49-mph throws that are routinely accurate. At the plate, this RHH has a sound approach to bunting. She has a high energy operation. Timing is the key to her approach. She starts with a noticeable high leg lift to load. Her operation is active and when she is on time and on plane, she can impact the ball. She doesn't have a lot of big power, but she can hit line drives to all fields and hit them with some force. Lucy has a lot of projectable ability. She has a solid approach to all areas. With two years left in her HS and travel ball careers, she has real chance to improve upon her promising fundamental skill set. Sound projectable future.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
