KC Fall Softball Scouting Combine Afternoon Session
Taylor Adamson is a 2023 OF/MIF with a 5-2 130 lb. frame from Pleasant Hill, IA who attends Southeast Polk. Taylor is a skilled and athletic upper class player who shows sound college ready ability. She ran a solid 3.34 20-yard dash that highlighted her straight line speed. Her 1.19 initial burst time was also sound. Taylor is a primary outfielder and her quick feet and steady actions truly play well on the grass. She is very certain and sure to position. She reads the ball off the bat well. She fields with two hands out front like an infielder. Her fielding style plays well for her. She has a powerful arm which gets her 58-mph throws on line. with solid carry. Her throws are consistently accurate. On the dirt she shows commendable first step quickness. She has soft hands and an easy glove. She transitions quickly and her 61-mph throws are firm, hold their plane , and are highly accurate. At the plate, this RHH starts with a balanced and slightly closed stance. She carries her hands a bit high and incorporates a slight lift trigger. She stays inside the ball well. She has more of a middle-of-the-field to opposite field swing path and gets her barrel to and through contact routinely. Her swing operation should allow for added power as her career continues. Taylor's positive body language and plus effort level shows that she has an obvious affinity for the game. One can tell the game is important to her. She has college projectable ability and should get the opportunity to play at the next level if she so desires.
