2023 Summer Midwest Workout Showcase (Wed.)
Gavin De Jesus is a 2026 SS/OF with a 5-8 150 lb. frame from West Des Moines, IA who attends Waukee. He has a medium frame with a lean, athletic build and a high waist. He showed explosiveness in his sixty yard dash, recording a time of 6.64 seconds. Primary short stop that has twitchy actions and good range to both sides of his body. He is efficient in his movements and consistently works into a proper fielding position. He has soft hands and a good feel for the glove, transferring the ball cleanly to his throwing hand. He showed strong arm with the ability to generate nice carry on his throws to the base. Right-handed hitter that starts in a wide stance with high hands and a high back elbow. He uses a hover leg lift for timing and does a nice job of creating separation. He has a rotational swing that he repeats well. His swing is fluid and allows him to stay on balance at the plate. Excellent student. Named to the 2023 Summer Midwest Workout Showcase Top Prospect List.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
