RJ Hernandez is a 2028 1B/LHP/OF with a 5-11 170 lb. frame from Cibolo, TX who attends Steele. Big and strong build for his age with a physical look. Left handed hitter, hits from a balanced approach, has good hand quickness and fires them hard, was well timed, has some lift in his swing, solid contact to the middle of the field and the pull side, projects well as a hitter. 8.52 runner in the sixty. Primary first baseman on defense, has good glove actions and fields the ball cleanly, pretty fluid in his lower half actions and footwork, long and loose arm action that projects well. Also worked out in the outfield but is better suited at present for first base. Took a turn on the mound, has simple slow paced mechanics, hides the ball well in the back, varied his arm slot from 3/4's to low 3/4's. Fastball worked up to 67 mph with occasional run and sink, still developing feel for spinning the ball.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
