Skylar Vinson is a 2027 OF/RHP/2B with a 5-4 108 lb. frame from Torrance, CA who attends Torrance. Features a smaller build with time to develop. Ran an 8.26 60-yard dash. Worked out at both outfield and infield. Utilized a patient approach in the outfield. Showed the ability to make the routine play. Uses short arm action during high effort throws. More arm strength should come as the frame develops more. Showcased solid range on the infield. Moved well in both directions. Has enough athleticism to make plays on the run. Developing footwork fluidity throughout the fielding process will be key going forward. Right-handed hitter. Utilizes an upright stance with a square base. A big leg lift timing mechanism transfers weight on the backside. Uses a linear bat path through the zone. Uses the entire field well. Has the ability to shoot balls to the opposite field. Adding more strength to the frame would help drive the ball with more authority. Threw on the mound as well. Righthander pitcher. Uses a semi-windup delivery into slight drop and drive mechanics. Showed the ability to get down the mound well. Features a long, clean arm action out of a 3/4 slot. Low effort allows the delivery to be repeated well. The fastball sat 61-64 mph with slight armside run. Was around the zone often with the pitch. Paired it with a curveball in the low-50’s. The offering features big, 12-6 action. Also showed a changeup at 59-60 mph with fading action. Maintains armspeed well on the offering. Showcased good feel for the pitch. Has a solid foundation on the mound with time to develop power down the mound.
