Gavin Coughlin is a 2026 C/RHP, 3B, SS, MIF, OF, UT with a 5-11 175 lb. frame from Savage, MN who attends Academy Of Holy Angels. A taller frame and medium build. Ran a 7.32 60-yard dash. Primary catcher who worked out at the position with open feet, replacing well into the right-handed hitter box before working into a quick release. Throws from a higher slot with a shorter arm action. Good accuracy with a clean catch-and-throw. Tons of hand speed to throw 77 mph down to second with a 1.84 pop time. Worked around the bag during his round of throws. Also worked out as an outfielder, fielding the ball off the front foot and carrying the momentum well through it. Threw from a three-quarters arm slot with some trunk tilt through release. Showed some strength with throws at 80 mph from the outfield with accuracy around the bag, working uphill out of the hand. Light on his feet as he moves with a compact release. A right-handed hitter with an even base, higher-set hands, and a higher back elbow. He uses a toe-tap trigger to get on time. He was able to get on the barrel with his best contact showing when he extended out front to drive the ball pull-side. Showed some lift in the swing. Showed a few nice line drives near the end of his round of BP swings. Good student.
