Jacob Tanaka is a 2027 SS/2B, 3B, OF with a 5-4 120 lb. frame from Gardena, CA who attends Redondo Union. Features a smaller/lean frame where he flashed athleticism throughout his showcase workout. Ran a 7.53 60-yd dash. In the INF, showed adv. actions. Works low to the ground with light/quick feet with soft hands at reception. Used a shorter arm action with avg. strength up to 71 mph but worked quick to release and operated from multiple slots/angles. Early signs indicate of him being able to stay up the middle. At the plate, he sits in a wider stance with relaxed hands. He uses a smaller leg lift trigger where he loads the barrel with a higher elbow. Hands work direct and inside the baseball for a more compact swing that produced some line drives that stayed through the middle of the field in BP and an in-game double as well. Stays behind a firm front side which allows him to maintain balance.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
