2023 Summer Northeast Workout Showcase (Thur)
Owen Widger is a 2026 1B/RHP/3B with a 5-10 195 lb. frame from Southington, CT who attends Southington. Widger works from a broad strong build and looks the part of a corner IF. From the IF, he displayed a wider fielding base and worked through the ball well with clean glove work and fundamentally sound mechanics. He produced accurate throws across the diamond up to 81 mph with room to expand the lateral range. Offensively, the lefty handed hitter started from a narrow base with a high hand set and high back elbow, utilizing a quick leg lift trigger to generate dangerous hip torque and weight shift through impact. Widger got the front foot down early with evident strength in the hands, driving baseballs to the pull side wall with leverage in the stroke. Posted an exit velo of 80 mph. Ran a 7.65 sixty yard dash.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
