2022 PG Softball Winter Scouting Combine - Iowa
Kami Wood is a 5-foot-3, class of 2026 MIF/3B, OF from Bettendorf, IA who attends Pleasant Valley HS. Kami is a dynamic younger player who has a high energy level and solid approach that is based on a sound fundamental foundation. In addition to her noticeable ability on the diamond, she is also a recognized scholar. She ran a 5.69 40-yard dash and was timed at 3.62 from HP to 1B. She also posted a 6'2 1/2 standing broad jump. A primary MIF, Kami is a bundle of energy whose quick twitch is readily noticeable on defense. She has active feet and positions quickly and consistently. Her glove is smooth, and her hands are soft. She transitions well to a shorter arm operation and gets her 54-mph throws on plane and on target routinely. Kami shows the capacity to be a competent and trusted defender at either of the MIF positions. At the plate, Kami is an accomplished bunter. She starts with a slightly open stance and has a short quick load to trigger. She coils around her core and releases her hips to help create force in her bat path. She is a contact first hitter who has an all-fields approach. She hits the ball where it is pitched. Her style works quite well and matches her athleticism. Kami has the right approach. Her body language also tells many that the game is important to her. With physical maturity, added strength and an opportunity to play at a more competitive level, Kami should have a sound chance to play at the next level! Bright future for this driven player!

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
