Shane Ernst is a 2025 C/2B with a 5-9 135 lb. frame from Saint Charles, MO who attends Francis Howell. Slender young build with lots of room to fill in and get stronger. 7.44 runner in the sixty. Primary catcher on defense, shows nice athleticism in his actions, comes out of his crouch quickly and has a quick exchange, receives the ball cleanly and confidently, arm strength should continue to develop with more physical strength. Also played the infield with the same type of quick lower half athleticism and good hands. Right handed hitter, hits out of a slightly open semi-crouched stance, short hands driven swing with a downhill swing plane, high contact swing approach, can use his lower half more to help generate bat speed.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
