Richard Carlson is a 2027 RHP/1B, 3B with a 6-2 190 lb. frame from South Beloit, IL who attends South Beloit. Large frame with highly projectable build; ran 60 yard dash in 7.73 seconds. Hits from upright stance with even base, smaller trigger, length in hands through load, rotates well and shows bat speed, quality hitting tools for age in this look, showed power pull-side, intriguing look with the bat. Worked out at 1B, hands work out front, shows feel for footwork around bag, clocked up to 73 mph on throws. Also pitched, hands over head into windup, lengthy arm stroke, creates separation, fastball worked 72-75 mph with cutting action, developing feel for slider. Good student, named to 2023 Midwest Indoor Top Prospect List.
