Damian Taylor is a 2026 RHP/SS/OF with a 5-9 132 lb. frame from Fayetteville, NC who attends Cape Fear. Medium frame with wiry muscle tone and the type of body to add size and strength in the near future. Ran the 60 yard dash in 7.59 seconds. Primary position RHP, working from the full windup and on the 3B side of the rubber. Kind of a hybrid start and comes set inline holding hands away from the body at the belt. Works into stabby inline arm path to accelerate through an over the top arm angle. High effort and aggressive delivery but tends to leak his front side and lose some direction. When he stays in line and gets foot down the ball jumps out of hand. FB up to 74 mph, sitting in the low-70s with emerging command. Can really spin the ball, CB in the mid-to-upper 60s and tighter spin with some late break. Secondary position IF, moving well to the ball with confident angles and actions. Rangy footwork with lateral mobility and clean midline transfer. Arm played well here and in the OF with velocities of 72 and 75 mph respectively. RHH starting wide and bowed out with high handset and high back elbow. Quiet mechanics, pulling hands through to impact. Spraying the ball gap to gap and when on time found good barrels in the middle of the field. Tremendous student.
