Matheson is a thickly built strong RHP that we've seen around 90 before. He is a very good athlete and it's surprising he's not a position prospect. He runs well and shows power. In Ft Myers he threw 86 with a big time 80-81 slider. The fastball shows life, both sink and running action. The power slider is outstanding and Matheson seems to have good command of both pitches. This kid has and will throw 90+. The 90+ heater combined with the 81+ slider is a very interesting closer package in college. His delivery is a little deceptive and the ball gets on a hitter in a hurry. Matheson is real good!
