Emmerich is a very interesting LHP/OF that needs to be followed closely. In Ft Myers he threw much better from the outfield than he did from the mound. From rightfield he showed a plus accurate arm with a lightening fast arm stroke. Clocked at 88 mph! On the mound he was more slow and deliberate without the real quick arm action. He might have been tired or sore, so you can't discount his ability as a left-handed pitcher. Even at that, he showed low 80 velocity. His curve ball was a big looper in the mid 60s. More importantly he looks like a player and a very good prospect. He runs just OK, but he's got a beautiful left swing that produces excellent under control bat speed. He hit a lot of hard line drives and projects to get bigger and stronger. There's some real power potential in that pretty swing. Scouts should take a close look at him, he brings some interesting talent to the table.
