2023 Deep South Prospect Showcase
Tanner Binkley is a 2026 SS/RHP with a 5-10 165 lb. frame from Brandon, MS who attends Hartfield Academy. He ran a 7.10 sixty yard dash. Primary Middle infield he showed a lean athletic build with plenty of room for additional strength. Showing plenty of range laterally catching the ball clean and out front. Dropping the slot when he needed to the throws showed some cary across the infield with plenty of accuracy. On the mound Binkley showed a leg lift slightly above hip height with some effort throughout the operation. Working with a shorter arm stroke that stayed straight over the top he showed a fastball that sat in the low 70s peaking at 75mph. The breaking ball showed some tightness with late horizontal break through the zone. Right handed hitter starts with a wide even base with a leg lift trigger. Gaining some ground going forward with the lower half he worked a longer swing path cutting it short on at times. Tanner is an excellent student.
