Terrence (TJ) Holmes is a 2027 1B/LHP with a 5-5 100 lb. frame from Cameron, NC who attends Northwood Temple Academy. Extra lean build right now with a tremendous amount of time and opportunity to add size and physicality. Ran the 60 yard dash in 7.41 seconds. Primary position 1B, using methodical and calculated movement to the ball, presenting the glove in good position to the play. Deep funnel in transition to throw, emerging arm strength with solid accuracy. LHH setting up with a straight stance, using a small hanging leg lift to get things started. Showed good rhythm and consistent timing, getting his foot down on time. Showed nice looseness to hands and swing plane will lead to good loft with time and overall strength gains. Secondary LHP, using simple leg lift to the waist and staying directly in line to the plate with hips and shoulders. Breaks hands at the belt and takes hand into deep arm path almost reaching the depth of his back knee, then accelerates through an over-the-top arm angle. Did spin off frontside at times and would push the ball to his arm side with elevated misses. Filled up the strike zone for the most part and pitched primarily off his FB that was in the low-50's for this outing. Holmes is a young prospect who will make big jumps in the coming years as he matures and adds physicality.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
