2023 Sunshine Southwest Showcase
Landon Makinster is a 2026 3B/RHP, SS, OF with a 6-0 165 lb. frame from Branson, MO who attends Branson high school. Features a medium sized, projectable athletic build. Started off the event running a 7.36 60-yard dash. As a primary third baseman Makinster showed well in his defensive round with solid athletic actions and the ability to work through the baseball with confidence. Made all the required plays, moved well laterally and made strong, accurate throws across the diamond. Offensively he starts in a slightly open stance using high leg kick trigger mechanism with a pronounced bat wrap. Showed he could consistently barrel balls up and use the whole field. On the mound he features a 3-pitch mix (FB, CB, SL). Stays tall throughout the windup and delivery. Easy operation, strike thrower. The arm works with low effort, and stays linear down the mound creating good push off.
