LATEST PG SHOWCASE REPORT

There's not much sense in us giving another report on Milledge. If scouting departments go with tools, Lastings Milledge has the best tools in America. That is why he's been our #1 ranked "03" prospect for over a year now. In Ft Myers he was the only hitter that had a chance that faced Andrew Miller. Milledge hit a line drive 100 mph, foul on Millers first pitch, a 93 mph live fastball. He then grounded out later in the AB. Milledge has all the tools. I talked to a crosschecker that graded him an 8 as a centerfielder at the World Championships in Canada. His arm is at least a 7 with potential for 8. His running speed is a 7, he ran an electronically timed 6.6 on a slow soft track in Ft Myers. He's run in the 6.5 area many times. His bat speed is right up there with most top MLB hitters. Where scouts and we might disagree is in the power catagory. Most scouts would grade him MLB average or a bit above. We would grade him an easy 7, we've seen the long ball raw power. When you take into consideration that he has room to improve his pitch selection and a few other refinements, you get the whole picture. We should add, that in the 3 or 4 years we have gotten to know him and watched Lastings play... We have never seen anything other than great character, politeness and a willingness to do what it takes. We think he has championship caliber makeup and will be a Big League star performer!
