We've seen Brockel play many times. He always shows a strong athletic body, a very strong arm and some power potential at the plate. In Ft Myers he didn't disappoint us. He ran a 7.1 on the slow soft track. That puts him in the MLB average running area. All else was the normal good prospect we've been watching. He showed a plus 3B arm throwing 88 mph across the infield. He showed plus bat speed and power potential by hitting a 400' homerun in the game. He showed nice infield actions and outstanding hitting ability. And just to confuse everyone he came in to pitch. 88 mph fastball with some real giddyup life. A pretty good high 70s slider with plus MLB pitch potential. A 72-73 curveball with good spin and a decent, but too slow changeup. We think he's too good a player to go the pitching route in pro ball. However in college he's an absolute 2-way guy, if he's needed tp pitch. Some scouts in Ft Myers liked him best on the mound. We don't agree because we've seen him do so many good things in the past. In fact, he did those same things in Ft Myers.
